An elderly couple asked me what year the Legacy was, I replied 2006. They said they have a 1990 Legacy, which they love and has been such a good car that they still have no plans to replace it. They said mine was a handsome looking thing, and so quiet when it went by that they thought it might be electric. Super nice people.
I’d say it’s fitting that the first people to stop and compliment my car were about the same age as my grandpa that I inherited it from.

This needs some body-matched white wheels asap

Ah, yes. The famously quiet EJ25... Someone forgot their hearing aid this morning. Beautiful car. One of my favorite Subaru bodies.

When it’s not under load, it actually is surprisingly quiet, mostly due to the ultra-low miles on it. Really though I think you’re right, as well as being quiet in comparison to their 1990.
It has its awkward angles, but overall I’m quite happy with how this thing looks.

My 2002 Impreza with the same engine was crazy quiet at idle.

My dad has tried starting it while it was running on more than one occasion, because of the quiet idle

Best looking car Subaru has ever made, easily. I wish they were still around.

You sell yourself short. It’s a beautiful Legacy wagon. Isn’t there a subie club up there?

Well thank you. I can’t take too much credit, since I didn’t choose it, but I try to take good care of it. There might be, I’ve never looked actually. I figured they’d be focused on WRXs/STIs, or GTs if there was any Legacy stuff going on. Mine is just an auto 2.5i

My wife has a 2015 outback and they made them considerably uglier than your generation which is very good looking. Especially the wagon. I wish Subaru made handsome cars again.

Yeah, I don’t love how most of the new stuff looks, though I like the current Forester a lot for some reason. That said, I don’t love how most new cars look in general.

Nasioc has a VIC chapter that is pretty active. i used to visit more but like you our Forester is missing the hood scoop.
We toured to the next town over on Saturday. Took the Subaru because of head gasket woes on the truck. The drive reminded me why I like our car so much- it’s easy to drive, no cares about weather or road conditions, and you can always take the dirt road home..

I know that the headgaskets are gonna go at some point, so I hope I’m loaded enough by then that I can do an LGT drivetrain swap when that happens....or an H6 with a manual, if there even is a manual that bolts up to the H6.

It really is impressive how much it’s glued to the road in bad weather. Although when I take this one on dirt roads I get a bit nervous about the low profile tires. I was considering a set of 15" steelies to put mild all-terrains on, but then I bought the Raider.
Oh yeah, we had fish tacos at the wildside grill today, they were excellent

Ive had an elderly gentleman try to open up my 2006 Outback with his keys. He was parked a few down from me in a similar Outback.

It was rainy and late when we drove down there, the last hour was pretty slow with that road.. when we left it was clear, sunny and empty- the road was awesome right up until my son threw up in the back seat..
